Assistant Professor of English

Biography

Kim Harper is an Assistant Professor of English at Louisiana College and specializes in American Literature, focusing particularly upon southern writers of the Civil War, Reconstruction, and Civil Rights Movement. In addition to teaching English courses, in the past she has also taught Microsoft Office software courses, such as Excel, Publisher, and Word.

Mrs. Harper received her Bachelor of General Studies (with a major concentration in Social Studies and a minor in English and History) and a Master of Arts in English from Northwestern State University. Currently, she is enrolled at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette where she plans to complete the Doctoral of Philosophy in English by Spring 2018.  She is also a member of the Modern Language Association.

Her church is an important part of Mrs. Harper’s life. She is an active member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Glenmora, Louisiana, where she loves working with the youth.
