“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” – Colossians 1:16-17

When we think of the things The Lord created, nature’s fixed laws and principles are among them. This, of course, includes the areas of math and science.

As a Chemistry major at Louisiana College, you will study under a dedicated faculty who will teach you the essential disciplines of science from a Biblical worldview.  Each faculty member is trained at the doctoral level in the content area they teach.

A degree in Chemistry from Louisiana College will prepare you to enter the job market competitively as a chemist or teacher, or to continue your education in graduate and/or professional programs.  The Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry requires you, the major, to gain hands-on experience in the LC labs and to complete either a research project or an internship in chemistry as part of the degree.

The goal of chemistry coursework is to equip you as a student with an awareness of modern chemical technology and to build problem-solving skills, while training you in the underlying principles of the field.
