THEATRE ARTS

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” – I Corinthians 10:31.

In a fallen world looking for a message of hope and salvation, powerful storytelling can be an effective tool for communicating the Gospel. In the Department of Theatre Arts, our mission is not only to equip young artists with intensive hands-on training in their concentrations, but to emphasize the importance of a Christian worldview in what is often a very secular vocation.

With the head of LC’s theatre department being a top agent for film actors in the state of Louisiana, student artists are provided with unique training as actors on the very different mediums of both stage and screen.

The curriculum includes an abundance of hands-on training in our practicum extension, theatre louisiana college (tlc).  Here you will be given the opportunity to explore the varying facets required to make a theatre run efficiently. tlc maintains a busy production season, giving you ample on-stage and off-stage resume building opportunities in areas such as stage management, set construction, costume design and assembly, house management, and theatre administration.

Our emphasis on application and individual attention is the backbone of our exemplary student success. At LC, we see undergraduate theater departments as being the foundation of the entertainment business, thus making a Christian Education in the field all the more important.
