Louisiana College is located in the southern United States near the Red River in Pineville, Louisiana (population 12,000). Alexandria, Louisiana (population 60,000) sits directly across the Red River and forms part of the college's community.
The campus is comprised of 81 acres of pine trees with twenty-five academic and residential buildings both modern and historic. Pineville is a very safe area with easy access by car to restaurants, shopping, and recreation. The multicultural city of Alexandria, a five-minute drive away, also offers a shopping mall, an international airport, and other conveniences.
The state of Louisiana is a popular year-round tourist destination for people who enjoy Southern history, food, music, festivals, and charm. Major cities within easy driving distance include New Orleans (4 hours), Baton Rouge (2 hours), Shreveport (2 hours), Houston (4 hours), and Dallas (5 hours).

For more information on student life at Louisiana College, see the Students section of the website.
In addition to the college's facilities, students may enjoy local recreation and attractions like museums, national parks, rivers, lakes, festivals, and historic sites.
Our International Student Organization is also very popular. ISO, is a student organization made up of international and American students at Louisiana College. The ISO is run by a group of students, just like you, and is involved in promoting international life on campus. The ISO meets about once a month or more to help international students adjust to American culture, traditions, and way of life. It serves to encourage multicultural friendships and involvement in campus activities.
To be admitted, students must demonstrate above-average academic ability and submit the following documentation:
International students arriving at Alexandria International Airport will receive free transportation from the airport to the college. Students must contact the International Student Advisor in advance to schedule a driver.
On campus housing will be arranged. Most students live in dormitories and share rooms with an American student. Holiday housing will be available when dorms close for Christmas and other vacations. In order to secure on campus housing a Housing Request Form must be completed. You can find the Housing Request Form on the Resdidence Life page of the Louisiana College web site.
All international students will participate in orientation sessions before classes begin and occasionally throughout the semester. These orientation sessions will help students become familiar with Pineville/Alexandria, the LC campus, student life, academic requirements, and other relevant issues like health, banking, transportation, culture shock, and maintaining F-1 visa status.
