Safety & Security
Crime & Emergency Reporting
The Safety and Security office is responsible for law enforcement, security
and emergency response of the College. The Safety and Security office
is located in the Church Hall dormitory (adjacent to Donahue Ferry road).
Security is on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and staffed by security
officers.
A number of telephones are located in academic buildings throughout the
campus. These telephones can be used to report crimes, emergencies or
to request security services.
The Director of Safety and Security conducts bi-annual surveys of the
campus grounds to ensure that shrubbery, trees and other vegetation do
not impede light disbursement or interfere with walkways. The campus community
is encouraged to report any safety concerns, exterior lighting and building
telephone malfunctions to the Safety and Security office at 308-6505.
Efforts are made to inform members of the campus community on a timely
basis about campus and crime related issues. These efforts include the
following:
-
Annual Report
Crime statistics are compiled yearly and are available to the media
or any member of the campus community.
-
Louisiana College Website
Crime statistics may be viewed by accessing our website at http://www.lacollege.edu/security.
-
Campus Alert Flyers
In special circumstances printed crime alerts are prepared and distributed
selectively or randomly throughout campus.
Louisiana College will make timely reports to the campus community on
crimes considered to be a threat to students and employees [Statistical
report section (A)] that are reported to campus security or local
law enforcement agencies. Such reports shall be provided to students and
employees in a manner that is timely and that will aid in the prevention
of similar occurrences.
