Fixed Asset Manager/Assistant Bursar


Purpose:
Under the direction of the Business Office Director, this position will perform a variety of accounting tasks including analysis and maintenance of general ledger accounts and the fixed assets accounting system.  


Essential Function:

Fixed Asset Manager

  • Responsible for maintenance of fixed asset accounting system which includes:
  • Initial identification of capital expenditures and proper documentation of necessary information for entry into the fixed asset system.
  • Entry of all fixed asset information into fixed asset accounting system.
  • Responsible for proper bookkeeping of the Invested in Plant Fund including, but not limited to, initial recording of acquired assets, annual depreciation, and proper handling of disposals.
  • Responsible for immediate tagging of all new capital equipment as well as a periodic physical inventory of capital equipment.
  • Provides periodic inventory listings to custodial departments and reconciles with physical inventory.
  • Responsible for an organized and efficient filing system for fixed assets.

Assistant Bursar

  • Assists with the performance of daily duties within the Bursar’s office:
    1. Customer Service
    2. Student billing and collection
    3. Receipting, balancing, and depositing of institutional funds
    4. Maintaining and balancing accounting records for all receivable accounts.
  • Serves as back-up when the Bursar is on vacation or out sick.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs other related duties as required or assigned by Supervisor. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of fixed asset capitalization criteria
  • Knowledge of college financial policies and procedures is a plus
  • Knowledge of accounting, specifically as it pertains to fixed asset and accounts receivable principles and practices
  • Ability to skillfully utilize Word and Excel
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
  • Analyze fiscal reports, spreadsheets, and other materials and draw logical conclusions
  • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and administer record-keeping systems and procedures

Education: 

Required:
Two years of higher education with at least 12 hours of accounting coursework, or

Experience:
Two years of employment experience in the accounting field, preferably in fixed assets and/or accounts receivable.

Coordinator of Student Activities Staff Position

Office of Student Support Services


Purpose:

Louisiana Christian University invites applications for the Coordinator of Student Activities to lead, plan, and coordinate the student activities programs on campus that will enrich and enhance the student’s overall experience. The Coordinator will supervise student organizations and facilitate meetings and partnerships that will further improve students’ engagement on campus. The Coordinator reports to the Director of International Student Affairs and Student Engagement. The Coordinator is responsible for providing on-site supervision for all events and activities at night and on the weekends and is required to reside in an on-campus apartment throughout the term of his/her appointment. The Coordinator must have the ability and willingness to assume shared responsibility for campus-wide on-call duty nights and weekends and respond to crisis and emergency situations. The position begins July 1, 2022.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Attends the Union Board meeting and provides advice on programs and events \
      • Assist the Union Board in planning a robust calendar of events for the academic year
      • Assist the Union Board in organizing and implementing events and activities 
  • Attends the Student Government Association meetings and provides advice on programs and events
      • Assist SGA leaders in identifying goals and outcomes for the year
      • Assist SGA leaders in identifying new student organizations and service-learning sororities and fraternities that align with LCU’s mission

      • Assist the SGA in planning a robust calendar of student events for the academic year

  • Attends all FROSH events and activities and ensures the activities are organized and well implemented

  • Offers innovative ideas and implement new program ideas 
  • Works with the Director of International Student Affairs and Student Engagement to plan, organize, manage, and implement engaging and enriching events and activities for international students 
  • Develops and implements a transportation plan to provide weekly trips for international students
  • Provides transportation to and from airport 
  • Provides for international students’ needs during campus breaks  
  • Designs, implements, and assesses events that promote the development and practice of intercultural exchange

Director of Residence Life Staff Position

Purpose:

Louisiana Christian University is seeking a dynamic, energetic candidate to serve as the Director of Residence Life.  The Director is a live-in professional who oversees the residential and community life on campus, plays an integral role in the formation of students, and sets the tone for student experience outside the classroom. The Director manages the activities of the living-learning centers at Louisiana Christian University to provide efficient service, comfortable accommodations, and an attractive environment for resident students. The Director of Residence Life works closely with the Dean of Students and other Student Support Services staff and reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Student Engagement and Enrichment and ultimately to the Provost. 


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Foster the essential continuity of learning throughout the campus community with the concept that ideas presented in the classroom are relevant to daily life in the residence hall. 
  • Recommend, maintain, and enforce policies and procedures concerning all residence facilities at Louisiana Christian University.
  • Monitor student attitudes, behaviors, reactions, and needs and communicate this information to the appropriate members of the University community. 
  • Oversee the selection, training, and supervision of residence hall staff members.
  • Coordinate Maintenance and Housekeeping functions in housing facilities.
  • Supervise residence hall security and key control.
  • Maintain safety standards and ensure emergency procedures are up-to-date and publicized.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement the summer conference schedule and housing.
  • Communicate with the Business Office regarding damage assessments, rental payments, and budget requests.
  • Maintain student records as well as housing records regarding assignment, retention, and attrition and make regular reports and projections on occupancy.
  • Design, administer, evaluate, and supervise student social programs and activities to promote participation and quality of organizations.
  • Serve as resource for student program committees in the areas of program planning, production, publicity methods, and contract negotiations.  
  • Assist with determining fiscal requirements of the unit and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds.
  • Coordinate specific arrangements with external groups to campus.
  • Perform personnel activities for residence hall staff members such as hiring, firing, performance appraisals, scheduling, orientation and training, and general supervision.
  • Assist in the leadership development of students through role-modeling and informal instruction.
  • Coordinate the Ambassadors activities by recruiting, training, organizing, and scheduling their activities with off-campus groups.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of First Year Experience and other Student Support Services staff to plan and host FROSH, Freshmen Orientation, and the FYE 
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Student Development, Human Development, Education, Administration, or related field, preferred. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related field. 
  • Knowledge of higher education and experience in a public or private school of higher education.
  • Experience in administration and in supervision of professional personnel preferred.
  • Experience in managing housing, residence life, or apartments. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Personal attributes of high caliber such as intelligence, integrity, dependability, initiative, sensitivity, and creativity, as determined by application, references, and interviews.
  • Physical ability to move around equipment to set up for events.

Director of International Student Affairs and Student Engagement Staff Position

Office of Student Support Services


Purpose:

Louisiana Christian University invites applications for the Director of International Student Affairs and Student Engagement. The Director provides leadership, management, and direction for the Office for International Student Affairs and for campus-wide student engagement. This position will provide strategic supervision to support the international student experience and will provide overall organizational management for student engagement and activities at Louisiana Christian University. 

The Director serves as the Designated School Official (DSO) to fulfill the obligations for compliance with federal regulations related to the enrollment of international students. This Director leads a wide range of educational and cultural programs, immigration advising, and other support services for international students. The Director is responsible for advising international students, overseeing student support processes for international students, maintaining and updating student records through SEVIS and campus databases, managing external and internal communications with students, and liaising with other departments on campus to offer comprehensive support for the international population. 

The Director assists the Coordinator of Student Activities with the financial management and execution of programs and operations related to student activities and works with outside vendors to secure service and contracts. The Director provides logistical assistance to the Coordinator and assists with executing campus events and programs. 


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 students:
  • Stay abreast of DHS/ASEVIS/DOS statutes, regulatory, policy, and practice changes through participation in NAFSA through meetings, lists-serves, webinars, etc.
  • Submit the annual report to the Department of State
  • Collaborate on the issuance of Certificates of Eligibility for F-1 students (I-20s)
  • Consistently manage student registration and student updates in the SEVIS system (employment, CPT/OPT, address changes, program dates, travel verification, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records (in print and electronically) for international students
  • Ensure the reliability of critical information related to international students and promptly disseminate information and make it easily accessible.
  • Oversee student support services and advise international students on academics, SEVIS regulations, travel, and a variety of other needs:
  • Manage the pre-arrival communication process for newly admitted international students
  • Assist with planning and implementing a comprehensive International Student Orientation each August and possibly January
  • Assist with planning first-year international student programming to assist with acculturation
  • Connect international students with local church members as approved by the University to “adopt” a student during their time at LC
  • Plan tax training workshops, enroll in tax software assistance, and communicate the mandatory necessity for tax filing for international students each year
  • Assist students as needed with a range of support services: Social Security numbers, Driver’s Licenses,
  • Serve as a resource for and work closely with departments across campus, including Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Student Support Services, English Language Program, Business Office, Admissions Office, and Residence Life and Student Engagement.
    Provide crisis management support for international students
  • Administer an office budget for international services and develop budget proposals as needed

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Assist the Office of Marketing with developing a webpage and a social media account, particularly as they pertain to international students
  • Spearhead assessment initiatives as needed and use data to drive decision-making and program enhancement
  • Supervise work-study students
  • Teach College Connection 100 (CC 100) each year

Purpose:

Performs administrative and secretarial services for a senior officer of Louisiana Christian University.


Essential Function:

  • Prepare correspondence for distribution or approval and signature, checking the documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Gathers information requiring a determination and evaluation of sources; compiles data involving an understanding of programs, policies, and procedures. May draft financial, statistical, and/or narrative reports.
  • Coordinates the flow of incoming communications and outgoing communications by receiving, routing, and/or responding to incoming communications and determining the appropriate office, department, or agency for outgoing communications.
  • Schedules appointments; arranges and participates in conferences and meetings; and disseminates minutes; recommends agenda items; makes travel arrangements.
  • Perform records management of a complex filing system by overseeing the filing system, creating files and records as necessary using judgment and knowledge of office requirements updating files and records, determining retention and purging schedules, and retrieving files and documents as needed.
  • Maintains departmental personnel records; maintains financial records for operating and equipment expenses; orders and maintains office supplies.
  • Complete insurance policy renewals as needed.
  • Safeguards the confidentiality of the College by exercising discretion in communicating information to faculty, students, staff and the handling of records, files and similar confidential items.
  • Operates office machines including typewriter, calculator, duplicating equipment, word processing equipment, or computer terminals.  Knowledge of excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft word.
  • Manage the rental properties owned by the College.

Head Women’s Tennis Coach


Purpose:
Direct and coach the Louisiana  Christian University’s Women’s Tennis Program.  


Essential Function:

  • Direct, oversee, and manage the University’s women’s tennis program, recruits, and recommends hires for the coaching and support staff.
  • Recruit students in accordance with Louisiana Christian University, NAIA, and the Red River Athletic Conference policies and guidelines. 
  • Ensure that Women’s Tennis is in compliance with all Louisiana Christian University, NAIA, and the Red River Athletic Conference guidelines, rules, and regulations. Provides all necessary reports and statistics periodically. 
  • Visit area and regional high schools and colleges to recruit student athletes. 
  • Direct on-field and classroom instructions and coaching in tennis techniques and strategy on the tennis program; evaluates individual performance and provides leadership and instruction in areas of deficiency. 
  • Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary, and personal matters; consults with administrators and faculty for resolutions of problems. 
  • Schedule the games for the women’s tennis team; makes lodging, meal and transportation arrangements, orders equipment and uniforms, maintains the inventory, cleaning and maintenance of equipment within the budget provided by the University. 
  • Represent Louisiana Christian University at professional, civic, charity and alumni events. 
  • Direct the development of reports and analysis setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions. 
  • Direct the personnel activities in the women’s tennis program including disciplining, training, merit recommendations, promotions, and transfers. 
  • Monitor academic progress of student athletes, counsels’ students, and assists them in solving problems.

Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach

Purpose:

Provide assistance to the Head Coach in the areas of recruiting, training, scheduling, and conditioning exercises.  The Assistant Coach of Men’s Basketball is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Louisiana Christian University, the NAIA, and the Red River Athletic Conference.

 

Essential Function:

  • Schedule and runs practices for the men’s basketball team; establishes the daily practice routine to include conditioning, running and scrimmages. 
  • Assist in academic counseling and advising of athletes.
  • Travel with the team to ensure the players are prepared for the game.
  • Scout upcoming opponents to determine weaknesses, strengths and tendencies; works with Head Coach to develop game plan.
  • Assist in the facility care and maintenance for HO West Gymnasium and Walden Gym.
  • Assist with year-round recruitment of high school and junior college players, including recruitment by evaluation, phone and written communication to coaches and players while maintaining a database of viable recruits for the women’s basketball program.

Technical Analyst

Purpose: The Technical Analyst implements and supports University desktop equipment and is the key technical resource responding to end user desktop incidents and requests reported to the IT Department.  Problems beyond the scope of your ability or responsibility are communicated in a timely manner to senior-level support personnel.  You will be involved in various types of project-based work. 

 

Essential Function:

  • Respond to and resolve inquiries and requests for assistance with University computer systems in person and via phone.
  • Perform moves, adds, and changes (MACs), as needed.
  • Perform hardware and software installations.
  • Maintain documentation related to incidents and requests.
  • Troubleshoot and determine source of computer problems (hardware, software, user access, etc.); advise staff on appropriate action.
  • Work one-on-one with staff on technology projects; provide recommendations for company technology purchases.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members.
  • Provide computer orientation to new company staff

Assistant Director of Marketing

Louisiana Christian University's Office of College Communications invites applications for a full-time Videographer and Storyteller who possesses a passion for video creation and editing, while creating videos that tell a story. The candidate is responsible for collaborating with the Director of College Communications and the Director of Marketing to research, develop, and execute innovative ideas to tell the stories of the College, ensuring that all video content reinforces and supports the College’s mission and effectively engages audiences in the stories about Louisiana Christian University. The candidate is responsible for researching, developing, and producing (concept, plan/storyboard, shoot, edit, post-production) videography to support student recruitment and advancement initiatives.

The successful candidate is responsible for managing pre-production, production, and post-production editing of video projects, including creating concepts for videos, maintaining video schedules, sourcing props and staging elements, sourcing product, and maintaining video equipment. The candidate will work as a member of a high-performance creative team to develop concepts and identify locations and subjects to create images for use across a variety of communications platforms including web, print, digital publications, and social media and will produce videos of people, events, meetings, and other subjects as needed to fulfill the campus's visual messaging needs.

  • Camera operator experience on live, directed, studio or location productions
  • Proficient in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects, Motion, Lightroom, Photo Mechanic, Photoshop and/or other graphic / enhancement software
  • Video storyteller, reporter, scriptwriter, interviewer or field producer experience
  • Drone pilot experience and the ability to be licensed as a drone pilot preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours which include night and weekend hours in order to meet deadlines and cover campus events
  • Ability to travel occasionally, primarily for general and project-specific development

Head Women’s Basketball Coach

PURPOSE: Direct and coaches the Louisiana Christian University Women’s Basketball Program.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Assist in the recruiting of student athletes in accordance with Louisiana Christian University, NAIA, and the Red River Athletic Conference policies and guidelines.

  • Ensure that football is in compliance with all Louisiana Christian University , NAIA, and Red River Athletic Conference guidelines, rules and regulations.

  • Assist in providing all necessary reports and statistics periodically.

  • Assist with the organization and arrangement of the yearly competition schedules.

  • Ensure the team has proper transportation, housing, and meals on road trips.

  • Assist with daily practice. Oversees and organizes the team practices. Prepares for practices and games.

  • Ensure equipment is in good working order, recommends equipment purchases, and assists with inventory of equipment.

  • Monitor academic progress of student athletes, counsel students, assist them in working through problems.

 

Other duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance of the field for practice and games.
  • Position may be combined with other responsibilities assigned by the Athletic Director or Supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as required.  (i.e. Event Management)

Louisiana Athletic Club \ Front Desk – Full Time

PURPOSE: Operates the service desk by greeting all members and guests appropriately.  Washing and folding all towels during each shift. Keep the cash drawer and POS system accurate during all shifts. Take pictures of new members. Follows the guidelines related to the Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information.

Admissions Counselor 

Summary: Responsible for administering all aspects of the college search and admissions process with prospective students; recruits high school and transfer students to Louisiana Christian University; initiates contact with students, parents, counselors, teachers and communicates specifics about the academic programs offered by Louisiana Christian University; encourages prospective students to apply and attend; explains the admissions and financial aid processes to prospective students.

Essential functions: 

  • Serves as a member of the Admissions team and manages a recruitment territory and/or population; contacts, visits and informs prospective high school and transfer students about LCU programs, culture, mission, and life on campus; ensures that recruitment goals are met regarding applications, acceptances, and enrolled students;
  • Articulates the College's mission to a variety of publics, acting as a liaison between LCU and area college counselors/administrators, students, parents, alumni, corporations and/or governmental agencies;
  • Initiates, plans, and executes special projects in conjunction with the goals and objectives of the department;
  • Reviews admissions applications, and evaluates credentials;
  • Develops and implements specific recruitment projects and management tasks as assigned;
  • Manages, plans, and coordinates special recruitment events as assigned;
  • Maintains current knowledge of the LCU’s academic, spiritual, recreational, social, extra-curricular, and financial aid programs, and communicates this information to prospective students;

Athletic Trainer
