BURSAR

PURPOSE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTION :Performs accounting duties with the receipt of the College’s monies and billing student tuition and fees. Oversees and ensures that the receipt of monies is handled timely, efficiently, and accurately. Receives cash and checks for deposit. Verifies and posts monies received; prepares and makes bank deposits. Oversees and performs data entry of daily receipts into the general ledger. Responsible for invoicing various aid sources. Coordinates and supervises the Business Office component of the Registration process. Manages Business Office procedures regarding Title IV posting, disbursement and record keeping. Provides information on policies, procedure and payment requirements; assists in resolving problems. Maintains rent accounts and short-term lean fund; balances various general ledgers. Provides work direction to designated personnel. Performs other related duties as required.

Supervised by the Business Office Director.

Instructional Designer for Distance Learning

Summary: Louisiana College seeks a qualified and experienced Instructional Designer to work collaboratively with administrative and faculty leadership. The Instructional Designer leads the design, development, and redesign of interactive online courses using a variety of digital resources and collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop and revise courses in a way which enhances student engagement and learning outcomes. The successful candidate possesses an in-depth knowledge of the pedagogical practices that support technology-enhanced and online learning, as well as experience with a wide range of learning technologies that support high-quality teaching and learning in online environments. The continuous learning and dissemination of knowledge of the latest proven tools and techniques by the Instructional Designer will be essential in order to foster the highest possible level of proficiency among faculty members. In addition, the Instructional Designer actively facilitates faculty development in pedagogy/andragogy, instructional design theory, and techniques and technologies that facilitate learning through consultations, seminars, and workshops. The Instructional Designer works with the Faculty Support Specialist to provide troubleshooting support to ensure all personnel are effectively delivering instruction using the Learning Management System and related teaching tools within the department and courses. The Instructional Designer works with the Coordinator of Distance Learning/Activity Director to recommend procedures to ensure state, federal, and accreditation policies related to instruction, curriculum, and course design. The Instructional Designer reports directly to the Coordinator of Distance Learning/Activity Director.  This is a full-time, 12-month position. The appointment begins as soon as the position can be filled. 

Responsibilities include the following:

    • Develop/lead faculty development training sessions in strategies and tools for online instruction
    • Develop materials for training sessions, including functional templates for online learning modules
    • Develop, recommend, and implement instructional guidelines, procedures, and practices that foster LC’s online mission and promote student learning and academic success.
    • Meet regularly with deans, chairs, and program directors to receive input on planning for online curriculum, instruction, and course design.
    • Plan, manage, and provide faculty development and training in the use of instructional technology in course development, assessment of student outcomes, and best-practice teaching and learning methodologies for online education.
    • Provide individualized assistance to faculty redesigning or converting online courses.
    • Ensure appropriate Quality Matters standards for quality online education are met or exceeded.
    • Analyze student learning outcomes and devise modes of assessment to measure the effectiveness of the outcomes for each course.
    • Ensure that course work follows best-practices design and accreditation standards.
    • Ensure faith and learning experiencing are part of the curriculum design.
    • Stay current with trends in online technology and best practices of teaching and learning; make recommendations about potential technological and pedagogical adjustments. 
    • Demonstrate skills in learning theories to support effective pedagogical and andragogical principles to support the effective teaching and learning of online students (traditional and non-traditional). 
    • Oversee piloting and evaluation phases of newly redesigned or developed online courses.
    • Assist in the Title III Grant Strengthening Institutions Program project evaluation data collection/analysis.
    • Assist in institutionalization of Title III Grant Strengthening Institutions Program project initiatives.

Admissions Counselor 

Summary: Responsible for administering all aspects of the college search and admissions process with prospective students; recruits high school and transfer students to Louisiana College; initiates contact with students, parents, counselors, teachers and communicates specifics about the academic programs offered by Louisiana College; encourages prospective students to apply and attend; explains the admissions and financial aid processes to prospective students.

Essential functions: 

  • Serves as a member of the Admissions team and manages a recruitment territory and/or population; contacts, visits and informs prospective high school and transfer students about LC programs, culture, mission, and life on campus; ensures that recruitment goals are met regarding applications, acceptances, and enrolled students;
  • Articulates the College's mission to a variety of publics, acting as a liaison between LC and area college counselors/administrators, students, parents, alumni, corporations and/or governmental agencies;
  • Initiates, plans, and executes special projects in conjunction with the goals and objectives of the department;
  • Reviews admissions applications, and evaluates credentials;
  • Develops and implements specific recruitment projects and management tasks as assigned;
  • Manages, plans, and coordinates special recruitment events as assigned;
  • Maintains current knowledge of the LC’s academic, spiritual, recreational, social, extra-curricular, and financial aid programs, and communicates this information to prospective students;
  • Encourages a healthy and productive working relationship between the Enrollment Management Division and other LC offices;

Bookstore Retail Store Assistant and Postal Service Assistant

 Summary: Assist with the purchase, delivery, merchandising and selling of books and supplies to the college community through the college bookstore. Assist with ordering, receiving and stocking of general merchandise to be sold in the bookstore; assist with checking of all items for damages. Assist with receiving of shipments and verify that all cartons are accounted for. Stocks and restocks merchandise regularly and prepares items for display. Keep record of items to be re-ordered and report to manager.  Operates the cash register to record sales and collect money.  Balances the receipts and completes report daily. Assist with the sale of textbooks and textbook buyback and rental programs. Checks selected departments quarterly for inventory discrepancy and reports to manager; assist with end of year inventory. Organizes annual Grad Fair. Responsibilities include monitoring of student online orders and placing additional order from vendor for students who have not preordered; returning extra regalia that was not purchased for credit. Responsible for ordering and/or renting of regalia for faculty and guest speakers for scheduled calendar events and processing returns to vendor after event. Fill purchase orders for college departments. Assist with the training of student workers and part-time employees. Responsible for supervision of student workers’ daily job assignments.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Rotation with other bookstore staff on a weekly basis to provide coverage in the Louisiana College Post Office. Duties include sorting and processing all incoming mail from USPS, UPS and FedEx. Processing of mail includes scanning packages into SendSuite system so that recipient will be alerted of receipt of package; delivery of packages through the postal service window by scanning of package and retrieving signature of receipt; sorting of non-package mail and placing in appropriate post office boxes.  The Louisiana College Post Office also offers sale of stamps, envelopes and UPS/FedEx/USPS mailing services.  These charges are processed through the cash register system and if credit card payment, processed on the credit card machine. The Louisiana College Post Office processes all outgoing departmental mail by metering with the Quadient Mailing System.  All mail is processed and coded to the appropriate department for charging.   Interdepartmental mail is also processed through the Louisiana College Post Office and is placed in the appropriate department box. The Louisiana College Post Office offers post offices to all students that are enrolled full-time at a one-time fee of $10.00 for their entire time as a LC student.  We assign boxes once the fee has been paid to the Business Office and receipt brought to the Post Office.  At the time of the student departure, the student is to return key and will receive receipt to be taken to Business Office for reimbursement of $10.00 fee previously paid.  End of day processing and balancing is conducted on a daily basis by the staff member that is assigned the Post Office for that week.  This includes balancing cash register and filling out Daily Deposit record as well as additional reports for the Business Office.

Director of Institutional Research  

Summary: Louisiana College is seeking applicants for the Director of Institutional Research position. The Director of Institutional Research provides leadership related to the collection, interpretation, and use of institutional data for planning and decision making and supports college decision making through research, data analysis and clear communication of results. The Director works closely with faculty, staff, and administrators throughout the college to determine data needs, prepare and present reports, and provide data to support strategic initiatives. The Director of Institutional Research researches, generates, and submits data mandated by state, federal, local, and other external agencies to maintain accreditation, compliance, and ranking status across various entities. He or she also provides statistical, informational, and administrative support to the various departments of the College and prepares an annual Fact Book detailing enrollment, registration, departmental data, and other relevant institutional data across the campus for each academic year. Internal requests for data are synthesized and issued in compliance with Federal (FERPA) Law. The Director of Institutional Research also works in collaboration with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness to provide data-based analysis for accrediting bodies and key institutional decision makers. He or she will assist the Director of Institutional Effectiveness with the maintenance and training of IR software and resources.

Coordinator of Distance Learning/Activity Director  

Summary: Louisiana College seeks a qualified and experienced professional to serve as the Coordinator of Distance Learning/Activity Director. The primary function of this position is to provide leadership and administrative oversight for all aspects of online education, including online student support services. Collaborating with academic leaders and faculty, the Coordinator leads initiatives to position Louisiana College as a distance education leader by working with an Instructional Designer to create innovative high-quality online courses and programs, primarily for professional and adult education. The Coordinator works with the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Director of Institutional Effectiveness to plan, develop, maintain, and evaluate the effectiveness of all distance education courses and programs. The Coordinator collaborates with the Vice President for Enrollment Management to create marketing, recruitment, and retention strategies for online programs and students. The Coordinator is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders across campus including, but not limited to, school deans, division chairs, program directors, Enrollment Management, and Information Technology. The Coordinator of Distance Learning works with the Instructional Designer to recommend procedures to ensure state, federal, and accreditation policies related to instruction, curriculum, and course design. The Coordinator reports directly to the Project Manager for the Title III Grant “Strengthening Institutions Program.” This is a full-time, 12-month position. The appointment begins as soon as the position is filled. 

Duties and Responsibilities: The Coordinator of Distance Learning is responsible for the following areas: 

Administrative and Distance Education Strategy:

    • In association with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, develop an overarching vision and strategy for growing LC’s professional and adult distance education through increased online course offerings and programs. 
    • Develop a strategic plan for quality assurance standards, such as Quality Matters, for all online courses and programs.
    • Supervise the Instructional Designer and Faculty Support Specialist.
    • Develop and conduct a process by which curriculum and programs are approved, renewed, deleted, evaluated, offered, and adjusted each year. 
    • Assist with developing a plan for recruiting, selecting, recommending, and evaluating current and future online instructors.
    • With the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Registrar, authorize final approval for the development of the semester schedule of all online classes, including specific courses, parts of the term, and catalog curricula.
    • Work closely with the Offices of Academic Affairs, Student Development, Business, and Information Technology to ensure quality online education.
    • Oversee LC’s membership in Louisiana’s SARA. 
    • Provide guidance in the institution’s distance education policies and procedures that endures quality online education and accreditation standards.
    • Design and determine methods to ensure program effectiveness and compliance with accreditation standards in online education.
    • Maintain best practices in online student services. 
    • Oversee acquisition and integration of technology to support project initiatives for the Title III Grant Strengthening Institutions Program f
    • Oversee completion of tasks leading to accomplishment of annual objectives in a Title III Grant Strengthening Institutions Program for the development of distance education.

Maintenance Worker

Purpose:

Perform basic maintenance, including but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, painting and pressure washing projects.

Essential functions:

 Demonstrate care and concern for students and faculty through excellence in service ticket resolution and preventative maintenance.

Resolve maintenance issues in the area of electrical, plumbing and appliance repair.

Prepare vacant apartments for move-in through turn-over repairs and improvements.

Preserve the beauty of the building and the safety of the community through general upkeep and cleanliness.

Assistant Registrar

Louisiana College is seeking applicants for an Assistant Registrar position.  The Assistant Registrar performs a multitude of tasks to support the Office of the Registrar, including entering data, maintaining and preparing student records, problem-solving student record and system errors, overseeing the grading processes and the identification/collection of missing grades and incomplete grade forms and attendance, and preparing for the start and end of a semester through various reports and other tasks. He or she is responsible for managing the daily operation of the registration system, monitoring and ensuring compliance with college policies regarding registration procedures, evaluating the effectiveness of said policies, and recommending changes. The Assistant Registrar is the primary liaison for FERPA compliance and will manage and enforce campus compliance initiatives. The Assistant Registrar serves to aid students and staff across the college in helping to navigate and resolve registration needs and errors in support of student registration activity. The candidate must be willing to work long hours during peak times, and the position involves attendance at a few weekend events, such as Preview Day, Front of the Line, and Wildcat Welcome Weekend.

Assistant Coach, Men's Basketball

Job Summary:

Provide assistance to the Head Coach in the areas of recruiting, training, scheduling, and conditioning exercises.  The Assistant Coach of Men’s Basketball is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Louisiana College, the Red River Athletic Conference and the NAIA.

Essential Functions:

  • Schedule and runs practices for the men’s basketball team; establishes the daily practice routine to include conditioning, running and scrimmages.
  • Assist in academic counseling and advising of athletes.
  • Travel with the team to ensure the players are prepared for the game.
  • Scout upcoming opponents to determine weaknesses, strengths and tendencies; works with Head Coach to develop game plan.
  • Assist in the facility care and maintenance for HO West Gymnasium and Walden Gym.
  • Assist with year-round recruitment of high school and junior college players, including recruitment by evaluation, phone and written communication to coaches and players while maintaining a database of viable recruits for the women’s basketball program.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize, promote and conduct summer camps and various mini-camps throughout the year.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Assistant Baseball Coach

The successful candidate will possess knowledge of athletic recruitment methods and techniques for educating student-athletes.  An in-depth knowledge of NAIA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes is required.

Athletic Trainer

Louisiana College is seeking applicants for an Athletic Trainer position.  The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for assisting the Head Athletic Trainer with all aspects of the Louisiana College Sports Medicine Program.  This encompasses, but is not limited to, providing primary healthcare for the student-athletes at Louisiana College, providing coverage for sports practices and contests as assigned; prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; maintaining up-to-date injury documentation and treatment records, physician referrals as appropriate, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Security Officer full-time

Louisiana College is seeking applicants for a part-time Security Officer. The Security Officer provides a variety of duties in enforcing laws and campus rules to protect lives and property within the campus community.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

° Patrols assigned area to deter and detect crime and apprehend violators; patrols parking lots and buildings to ensure their security.

° Notifies local authorities of theft, trespassing, fire or other unusual events; coordinates with other law enforcement agencies as necessary.

° Apprehends and transports suspects when appropriate.

° Provides emergency procedures for members of the campus community when appropriate.

° Conducts and participates in campus crime prevention programs.

° Provides escort services for the campus community and provides transportation when requested; issues traffic and parking citations.

° Makes building checks to ensure doors are locked, windows are closed, and lights turned on or off as appropriate; locks and unlocks offices and buildings as directed.

° Provides security at special events.

° Performs other related duties as required.
