Assistant Director of Marketing

Louisiana College’s Office of College Communications invites applications for a full-time Videographer and Storyteller who possesses a passion for video creation and editing, while creating videos that tell a story. The candidate is responsible for collaborating with the Director of College Communications and the Director of Marketing to research, develop, and execute innovative ideas to tell the stories of the College, ensuring that all video content reinforces and supports the College’s mission and effectively engages audiences in the stories about Louisiana College. The candidate is responsible for researching, developing, and producing (concept, plan/storyboard, shoot, edit, post-production) videography to support student recruitment and advancement initiatives. This position reports directly to the Executive Director for Development and Alumni Affairs.

The successful candidate is responsible for managing pre-production, production, and post-production editing of video projects, including creating concepts for videos, maintaining video schedules, sourcing props and staging elements, sourcing product, and maintaining video equipment. The candidate will work as a member of a high-performance creative team to develop concepts and identify locations and subjects to create images for use across a variety of communications platforms including web, print, digital publications, and social media and will produce videos of people, events, meetings, and other subjects as needed to fulfill the campus's visual messaging needs.

  • Audio recordist experience working in complicated sound situations (i.e.: group interviews, noisy environments, music, etc.)
  • Camera operator experience on live, directed, studio or location productions
  • Proficient in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects, Motion, Lightroom, Photo Mechanic, Photoshop and/or other graphic / enhancement software
  • Video storyteller, reporter, scriptwriter, interviewer or field producer experience
  • Drone pilot experience and the ability to be licensed as a drone pilot preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours which include night and weekend hours in order to meet deadlines and cover campus events

Director Safety and Security

Purpose: Performs a variety of duties in the supervision of the campus security department. Participates in the patrolling of campus areas. Serves as liaison between the campus security department and local law enforcement agencies.

Essential functions:

  • Develops patrol areas of campus. Recommends size of and logistics for Security Department. Recruits and hires campus security officers. Maintains liaison with local law enforcement agencies.
  • Supervises security officers; makes work assignments and conducts performance evaluations. Ensures college regulations and local, state and federal laws are enforced. Trains new personnel.
  • Coordinates crime prevention activities. Identifies and acts upon safety hazards and violations of the law and opportunities for crime.
  • Coordinates the enforcement of traffic and parking regulations, to include the issuance of citations and collections of fines. Registers vehicles and issues parking permits.
  • Directs the personnel activities of designated staff including hiring, disciplining, merit recommendations, promotions and transfers.

  • Prepares departmental budget; controls expenditures.
  • Ensures required records are maintained and reports are completed; investigates and records campus accidents.

Assistant Football Coach

Job Summary: Assist in the oversight and administration of the varsity and junior varsity football program at Louisiana College.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the recruiting of student-athletes in accordance with Louisiana College and NAIA, and the Red River Athletic Conference policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure that football is in compliance with all Louisiana College, NAIA, and Red River Athletic Conference guidelines, rules and regulations.
  • Assist in providing all necessary reports and statistics periodically.
  • Assist with the organization and arrangement of the yearly competition schedules.
  • Ensure the team has proper transportation, housing and meals on road trips.
  • Assist with daily practice. Oversees and organizes the team practices.  Prepares for practices and games.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order, recommends equipment purchases, and assists with inventory of equipment.
  • Monitor academic progress of student-athletes, counsel students, assist them in working through problems.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance of the field for practice and games.
  • Position may be combined with other responsibilities assigned by the Athletic Director or area Vice President.

LAC Receptionist

Purpose: Operates the service desk by greeting all members and guests appropriately. Washing and folding all towels during each shift. Keep the cash drawer and POS system accurate during all shifts. Take pictures of new members. Follows the guidelines related to the Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information.

Essential functions:

  • Greeting Members and guests with appropriate courtesy and manners.
  • Dispensing towels and locker keys per policy.
  • Answering phones appropriately and redirecting calls.
  • Maintaining an adequate stock of folded towels.

Groundskeeper

Purpose: The Groundskeeper is responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and beautification of the school grounds during all seasons. The Groundskeeper ensures plant growth and the cleanliness of the grounds, and also performs lawn care.

Essential Functions:
• Mowing lawn and weed eating.
• Performing daily lawn care which includes watering, raking, and blowing leaves.
• Planting shrubs, flowers, and trees.
• Perform regular weeding and mulching landscaped beds.
• Trimming small trees, hedges, and shrubs.
• Monitoring and maintaining plant health.
• Watering garden, lawns, and landscapes.
• Removing unwanted, dead, or damaged trees.
• Keep flower beds and college grounds clean by picking up any trash or dead branches and plants.
• Fertilizing lawn and plants and using pesticides as needed.
• Preparing outdoors area for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture, tying down unsecured items, etc.
• Assisting with after storm clean up.
• Performing regular custodial work such as clearing debris on walkways and disposing of it in proper containers.

Administrative Support Specialist

Louisiana College is seeking applicants for an Administrative Support Specialist for the PTA Program.  The Louisiana College Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program is a two-year program in which graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree, eligibility to become licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant, and the opportunity to become part of an exciting and rewarding profession. The Administrative Support Specialist performs clerical and related duties requiring: receiving incoming phone calls and guests in the office; scheduling appointments; channeling inquiries and paperwork to other offices as needed; working carefully with confidential and sensitive material; and assisting the office employees in other matters as needed.

Skills Required: This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple issues and projects in a fast-paced environment; must have knowledge of office operations and computer skills; must be able to create documents, spreadsheets, organizational charts, and reports using a variety of software products (MS Word, Excel); must employ excellent written and grammatical skills; and must possess a high degree of discretion, judgment, tact, and poise.  Knowledge of CAPTE standards and accreditation is preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.  A two-year college degree or Technical College in a business-related field preferred.

IT Help Desk Specialist

Louisiana College is seeking a Help Desk Specialist in their Information Technology Department.  A bachelor’s degree with three-to-five year’s work experience and advanced knowledge of company-supported applications is preferred but will consider applicants with advanced application experience.

Cataloging and Serials Coordinator

Louisiana College is seeking a dynamic, energetic candidate to serve as the Library Cataloging and Serials Coordinator to perform paraprofessional functions and specialized assignments related to cataloging and serials.   The duties and responsibilities of the Coordinator include copy cataloging and some original cataloging material in all formats using OCLC and current cataloging rules. Other duties include reference assistance, bibliographic searching, database maintenance, authority control, and training and inventory support for libraries and related duties as required. This position also resolves cataloging problems, aids in the maintenance of the online catalog, and creates and maintains statistical reports for the Library Director.  The Coordinator reports to the Director of the Library.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Catalogs library materials of various formats, ensuring access and discoverability, utilizing various industry tools and systems. Ensures holdings accuracy in OCLC.
  • Receives, checks in, processes, and displays serials and government documents; assists in the arrangement and set-up of materials.
  • Prepares files and maintains records for receiving, storing, and retrieving serials and government documents.
  • Plans and conducts an annual physical inventory for all library holdings with the assistance of library staff and/or student workers. Compiles and analyzes inventory results, makes corrections if needed, and reports all findings to the Library Director.
  • Assists library director with the preservation and organization of the archival collection as needed.
  • Assists library director with classroom instruction and workshops as needed.
  • Assists library patrons in the use of library resources and equipment along with library services such as the Live Chat feature and study area reservations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in library science or related field.
  • Experience in cataloging services, Integrated Library System, Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and database searching.
  • Demonstrate ability to establish goals, set reasonable periods for accomplishing tasks, effectively meet deadlines, excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Functional knowledge of library organizations and collections; Library of Congress Subject Headings; Machine Readable Cataloging Records (MARC); Dewey Decimal Classification system; Online Computer Library Center (OCLC); database fundamentals, MS Excel and PC skills.
  • Basic computing skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills with detail-oriented work and complex analytical thinking and decision making.

Assistant Baseball Coach

Louisiana College is seeking applicants for an Assistant Baseball Coach position. The Assistant Baseball Coach is responsible for training team members. The Assistant Baseball Coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Louisiana College, Red River Athletic Conference, NAIA. This is a part-time position. Technical Support Specialist

Louisiana College is seeking applicants for a Technical Support Specialist. The Technical Support Specialist participates in the activities of the Center for Online Innovation and Development that supports the Faculty Development Center ensuring the functions are performed accurately, expeditiously, and confidentially. Main duties include the following: install, test, troubleshoot project-related hardware and software; assist with integration of new technology into LC infrastructure; train and assist target faculty/staff in use of new technology tools, including Canvas; train LC faculty/staff in use of new systems for providing online student support services; and assist in institutionalization of Title III Grant Strengthening Institutions Program project initiatives.  Compliance with Federal Privacy laws is extremely important.

The Technical Support Specialist reports to the Distance Learning Coordinator. This is a full-time, 12-month position. The appointment begins as soon as the position can be filled.

  • Skills and Education Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required in Information Systems, Information Technology or similar field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of IT work experience and working knowledge of relevant computer hardware, software, LMS systems and web resources.
  • Experience providing IT technical support preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software and e-mail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and demonstrate ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to talk faculty through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help diagnose and resolve technical questions or issues.

Athletic Trainer

Louisiana College is seeking applicants for an Athletic Trainer position.  The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for assisting the Head Athletic Trainer with all aspects of the Louisiana College Sports Medicine Program.  This encompasses, but is not limited to, providing primary healthcare for the student-athletes at Louisiana College, providing coverage for sports practices and contests as assigned; prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; maintaining up-to-date injury documentation and treatment records, physician referrals as appropriate, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Security Officer Part-time

Louisiana College is seeking applicants for a part-time Security Officer. The Security Officer provides a variety of duties in enforcing laws and campus rules to protect lives and property within the campus community.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

° Patrols assigned area to deter and detect crime and apprehend violators; patrols parking lots and    buildings to ensure their security.

° Notifies local authorities of theft, trespassing, fire or other unusual events; coordinates with other law enforcement agencies as necessary.

° Apprehends and transports suspects when appropriate.

° Provides emergency procedures for members of the campus community when appropriate.

° Conducts and participates in campus crime prevention programs.

° Provides escort services for the campus community and provides transportation when requested; issues traffic and parking citations.

° Makes building checks to ensure doors are locked, windows are closed, and lights turned on or off as appropriate; locks and unlocks offices and buildings as directed.

° Provides security at special events.
