Welcome to your new home away from home. The transition from high school to college is one of the most exciting times in life and we want to do our best to help you navigate this transition well. From the moment you arrive on campus, our orientation staff will walk you through your first week at Louisiana College. View the Wildcat Welcome Student Orientation Schedule HERE.

When you arrive on campus, our Residence Life Staff and Student Orientation Staff will be here to greet you. Freshmen will move in at 10 a.m. August 10, when you will be directed to your assigned residence hall for check in. As you get settled into your new room, make sure you join us for lunch on the lawn of Cottingham Hall (the girl’s residence hall) for burgers. The orientation staff will be there to give you your orientation packet that includes your Welcome Week t-shirt. Food will be provided from noon to -2 p.m., and orientation packets will be available for pick-up from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Parents are invited to the Martin Performing Art Center (MPAC) at 3:30 p.m. for Parent Orientation. Parents will hear from the LC staff and other college parents about how to navigate this new season in their life.
After you are settled, you and your family are invited for a movie in the MPAC theater at 8 p.m. -- popcorn and drinks provided.
All freshmen and their families are invited to worship with us on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. in MPAC. We will be led in worship by the student orientation staff, and our President Dr. Rick Brewer will speak. Brunch will be provided in the cafeteria following the worship service.
Wildcat Welcome Week will officially kick off in the theater at 5 p.m. on Sunday evening and will conclude on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. This week will be invaluable to helping you learn the ropes of being a student at Louisiana College. You will also begin forming lifelong friendships.
Wildcat Welcome Week is part of the College Connection, your freshmen orientation class, and counts as a large part of your grade for the course. Make your plans now to be here; we know you will have a blast.
