Students who desire to earn the Francis Schaeffer Scholarship need to gain approval through the Vice President for the Integration of Faith and Learning by submitting this preapproval form. Failure to get preapproval will result in the student not being eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Once this approval is granted, the student will meet with the study leader to work through the course "Thinking Like a Christian." The course may be completed in either a 6 or 12-week format. Once the study is completed, the student will need to write a 1000-word essay reflecting on the study with his/her leader and submit it to Admissions at firstname.lastname@example.org. The study leader will submit the endorsement form to Admissions also using the same email address. The deadline to submit all paperwork is July 30th, no exceptions.
The book’s ISBN number is 9780805438956 and can be found through Summit Ministries.
If the student is granted the scholarship, he/she will attend 10 BCM services each semester of the academic year and attend the Values and Ethics Conference in the Fall Semester and the God in the Workplace Conference in the Spring Semester. Failure to complete these expectations will result in one semester of probation, where the student has the opportunity to make up missed service events and complete the required events for the current semester.
Remember, failure to obtain approval from the Vice President for the Integration of Faith and Learning will result in the student not being eligible to apply for the scholarship.
